DPMM will begin their pre-season against the Chinese League 1 team, Guangxi Pingguo Haliao on the 20th April at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. This will be the first match under the guidance under the new head coach Rui Batista..

DPMM have released a lot of players from the 2023 season with the likes of Helmi Zambin,Ak Fakharazzi, Wafi Aminuddin, Wardun Yusof, Hirzi Zulfazqar and Eddy Omar, among others.

The new faces in the squad are Safiuddin, Faturrahman,Nazry Aiman, Abdul Hariz including two players from the academy squad, Safwan azwan and Danish Firdaus.

Guangxi Pingguo are in the second tier of the Chinese League , and they are fourth in the league last season. they are among favourites to promote to the Chinese Premier League coming season, and are considered as Chinese Premier League material team.

This will be a good pre-season preparing nearing to the Singapore Premier League which will begin in May,2024.
