Team sports received a boost in returning to full training with football teams now allowed play with balls following revised guidelines under the latest phase of the de-escalation plan.
Local football teams such as reigning Singapore Premier League(SPL) holders DPMM FC resumed training with a ball after the plan took effect on Monday.
The on-the-ball training marked the first time it was held since training sessions came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Gegar Gegar men observed a limited group size during the latest training session yesterday, which was also similar during their session on Tuesday.
On Tuesday,DPMM FC goalkeeping coach conducted a separate session for goalkeepers using different balls for separate sessions.
Goalkeepers Wardun Yusof and Emerson were able to test their reflexes during the session, as their routines included making chest, ground and diving saves.
The Brunei-based outfit entered the eighth week of training since the long break as they continued to increase their sharpness for when the SPL resumes.
Prior to the latest phase of the de-escalation plan, football teams did their fitness training through running guided by equipment such as hurdles and ladders.
However, measures have been further eased with an exchange and mixing of players now allowed while activities involving physical contact are allowed on a minimal scale.
Under the latest guidelines,a group of 10 people should be observed during training sessions, an increase from five people.
However friendly matches - which are likely to result in heavy contact - are still not allowed.Organised sports and competitions are not yet allowed.
